Meet our Spotlight Athlete, Henry. Thanks for sharing your fitness journey at Rail Stop Fitness!
I chose to start with Rail Stop because of my brother who has been doing CrossFit for about 10 years and does a drop in when he visits here from Boston. My life was pretty lazy before starting. I didn’t have an active lifestyle at all before starting with this gym. I literally was on a path of having serious health problems with my blood pressure and cholesterol levels being elevated to a point of having to take medications daily.
One of the biggest goals I have achieved was pushing myself to come to the gym at least 5 days a week even when I didn’t feel like going. Definitely helps having other people that have the same mindset of being healthy and working out. Helps having people that are motivated to help push each other to get through the workouts each day. One of my favorite workouts are any cardio workouts like running, bike or rowing. Strength training like bench press, back squats and thrusters.
One of my favorite things about Rail Stop Fitness is the family community and the people you get to know during the normal 830 class I do weekly. I love how the coaches push you to do better each and every day. One of my gym buddies would be Elena. Since I first met her she has always been an inspiration for how she is so positive, motivating and a hard working woman. There are many people who I have developed a relationship with at the gym. It is nice to meet people that have the same drive and dedication to being healthy.
If anyone were on the fence about joining Rail Stop Fitness, I would say don’t hesitate. There is a sense of community, accountability and drive to be the healthiest person I can be everyday. It’s easy to be lazy and get into bad routines but having my gym family is seriously the best thing I have ever done for myself.
